Grades K-2

John 6:51  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever.

Second grade must learn this as well. Optional for first and kindergarten.

Q 79: Why then doth Christ call the bread “His body”, and the cup “His blood”;and Paul the communion of the body and blood of Christ?

A: To assure us, that we are… really partakers of his true body and blood by the operation of the Holy Spirit.

Grades 3-5

Question 78: Do then the bread and wine become the very body and blood of Christ? 

   A. Not at all; but as the water in baptism is not changed into blood of Christ, so the bread in the Lord’s Supper is not changed into the very body of Christ.

Memory text: 1 Samuel 1:27, 28 a “For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: therefore also I have lent him to the LORD.

Grades 6-8

15. Q. When is the Son begotten of the Father?
A. From all eternity. Prov. 8:24. When there were no depths or fountains, I was brought forth.

17. Q. Is He then the peculiar and natural Son of God?
A. Most surely. John 1:18. The only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father.

20. Q. Doth the Holy Ghost proceed from the Father only?
A. No; but from the Son also, therefore He is called the Spirit of Christ. Rom. 8:9. And the Spirit of the Son, Gal. 4:6.

22. Q. Is He also a distinct person?
A. Yes; He is expressly termed another. John 14:16. I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter.


30. Q. Is this doctrine necessary unto salvation?
A. Yes, because we thereby receive true knowledge of God and learn to seek atonement with the Father as judge in the satisfaction of the Son, through the working of the Holy Spirit. John 6:44.
